In motorcycle manufacturing, frame welding is a key link that determines the strength and safety of the entire vehicle. 1. Motorcycle frame welding project background
The client is a complete vehicle manufacturer with an annual output of 100,000 motorcycles. In the past, manual welding of frame components was used. Due to the large number of weld points and complex structure of the frame, manual welding often resulted in weld deviation, deformation and low efficiency. The client hopes to comprehensively improve welding quality and production stability by introducing a robotic welding system.
2. Composition of the motorcycle frame welding automated production line
(1) Robotic welding workstation: equipped with 6 multi-joint welding robots and equipped with a servo positioner to achieve multi-angle welding.
(2) Special fixture and positioning system: Develop special fixtures based on the frame geometry to ensure clamping accuracy and repeatable positioning accuracy.
(3) Automatic conveying system: Use a ground rail + roller conveying structure to achieve a fully automatic cycle of loading, welding, and unloading.
(4) Welding power supply system: Use a high-performance MIG/MAG welder, combined with pulse control technology, to effectively reduce spatter.
(5) Detection and data monitoring system: Integrate laser measurement and visual inspection to monitor the weld morphology in real time and store welding parameters in digital form.
3. Motorcycle frame welding production line process flow
(1) The operator places the frame assembly on the loading station, and the automatic positioning system completes the precise clamping.
(2) The conveying device transports the workpiece to the robot welding area.
(3) The robot automatically completes the welding path according to the preset program, using a multi-axis collaborative method to ensure a continuous and smooth weld.
(4) After welding is completed, the system automatically detects the weld quality, and automatically alarms and records data if there is any abnormality.
(5) Qualified frames are automatically unloaded and enter the subsequent painting or assembly process.
4. Project Results
After the motorcycle frame welding automated production line was put into operation, the welding cycle was shortened from 5 minutes per piece to 2 minutes, and the production efficiency increased by 150%; the weld qualification rate reached 99.8%, and the weld consistency was significantly improved. The production line supports the rapid switching of multiple models of frames to meet the customer's flexible production needs.
In addition, the entire line is equipped with energy-saving welding machines and automatic wire feeding systems, which saves about 20% of energy compared to traditional processes.
